“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

John 13:35

35 Acts of Kindness – MOPS 2013-2014

  1. Help a mom with little ones load her groceries in her car and take her shopping cart back to the return.
  2. Clean out your closets and donate clothing.
  3. Collect or buy some extra canned food and donate it to a local food bank.
  4. Donate books to a local library or shelter.
  5. Buy a gift card when you are at the grocery store and hand it off to another mom in the parking lot who is getting ready to go in.
  6. Give an inspiring book to a struggling friend.
  7. Drop off coffee or tea to a mom you know has had some sleepless nights!
  8. Buy dessert for someone eating out alone.
  9. Give an event ticket (movie, game, concert, etc.) to someone who might not be able to go otherwise.
  10. Anonymously send a friend in need some cash.
  11. Give care packs to the homeless. Fill paper lunch bags with shampoo, toothpaste, a toothbrush, soap and deodorant.
  12. Go through toys with your child and fill a box to donate to children in need.
  13. Thank our police or fire department. Bring a homemade thank you note and a batch of treats to a station.
  14. Instead of just thinking it, compliment someone.
  15. Leave an extra-large tip for your waitress/waiter.
  16. Give directions to someone who is lost.
  17. Leave inspirational cards on random parked cars.
  18. Let someone cut in front of you in line (especially if it’s a frazzled looking mom!).
  19. Leave an anonymous gift for a neighbor (on their doorstep, porch, etc.)
  20. Send a card to a far away relative.
  21. Make a care package for a deployed soldier.
  22. Offer to babysit another mom’s little ones so she can have a date night with her husband, or just some time for herself.
  23. Leave an unopened, travel-sized container of wipes and diapers on the changing table in a public bathroom (with a note for the finder).
  24. Pay for the person behind you at the drive-thru.
  25. Leave quarters in the machines at a Laundromat with a note that says “have a great day!”
  26. Reach out to someone outside your normal circle – invite her for dinner or to attend an event together.
  27. Provide a meal for a new mother.
  28. Send a note/card of thanks or encouragement to another mom.
  29. Take or send flowers to someone, for no reason except to brighten their day.
  30. Tape a dollar bill or some spare change to a vending machine with a note that says “have a great day!”
  31. Pay the toll for the person behind you.
  32. Thank your mail person with a homemade note and treat or a gift card.
  33. Tuck dollar bills in random bins at the dollar store (whoever finds one will get an item for free!)
  34. Visit a local nursing home (take your kids!).
  35. Write a thank you note to your child’s teachers.
